Ontario Elevation Map

Using the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s digital elevation model (DEM) we visualized elevation (at a slightly exaggerated scale) across the province of Ontario. We layered in the Natural Resources Canada Waterbody layer so that lakes appear filled in on the map.

We found it fascinating to look at the detailed topography of the southern Ontario region, including the Niagara Escarpment and the Oak Ridges moraine, as well as to take in the sheer number of lakes there are specked across the province.
